ntrusc
Hi all another panel I’ve made with translucent ammonite fossils, copper foil overlay is used to depict the tentacles, I’ve been trying to find out how many tentacles they had but there seems to be no evidence or consensus on how many. Thanks for looking Regards Neil.

ntrusc
Hi all, still making a few things with ammonites, a chessboard this time, lots of work left till I finish it, but it will have a resin top and a oak border, the ammonites are all self found from the uk, the white ones from Somerset and the darker ones Yorkshire. Thanks for looking, regards Neil.

Earendil
Now that's a chessboard! You wouldn't be in need of another family member, would you? 1 "Its webs of living gauze no more unfurl; Wrecked is the ship of pearl! Abyss
That'll be a very cool looking chess board when finished ! I don't know if you're already thinking this or not, but imagine if you could incorporate other fossils as the chess pieces Pawns - small ammonites, or since ammonites are used in the board, go with some other commonly found teeth that are small for pawns ? King/Queen - spinosaurus T-rex tooth ?, Knight Rook Bishop the options would be wide to choose from.

Thanks I’ve thought of using fossils as the pieces, would probably need some carving, maybe belemnites as bishops? regards Neil.
