Max-fossils
@Kasia those are some very nice pieces in your collection! 1 Max Derème "I feel an echo of the lightning each time I find a fossil. Thanks there are many more, but to get them requires a lot of digging (in boxes, not ground ) and unwrapping. And once I take them out, I'm never able to put them back the same way and something is always left outside , which means more digging in other boxes to find extra space.... It's a vicious circle
Kasia
Welcome back! Today Sara continued her adventures in Poland. First, we visited the XIth century castle of the Masovian princes - located in Czersk: She quite liked the dragon that used to be placed on the prince's coat of arms: Sara climbed one of the towers to view the castle and the surroundings:
Kasia
The she went to the yard and she smelled some food being cooked in one of the tents and she decided to try one of the dishes (called "zaguby") that are made according to really ancient recipes - some claim it's the typical food of the Middle Ages which - having tried - we concluded could be true, as the ingredients are really basic, namely potatoes, onions, bacon and sauerkraut.
Kasia
After the meal we went to visit the sand pit excavating sand from the Vistula River, which is my favourite spot for Pleistocene fossils Sara quite liked the soft sand, but I asked her not to walk on it, as I was afraid I might never find her again Instead, we went to the place, where all the sand is sifted and the stones and other interesting stuff are rejected:
Kasia
Sara immediately started looking for fossils, but it took her a while to learn how to differentiate between wood and bones Very soon she started indicating fossils

Kasia
Sara checked them again after I washed them and she was quite intrigued especially by pieces with teeth like this one - which seems to have some sort of serrations?
Kasia
I have no idea which animal it could belong to, so probably we will now browse internet to solve the puzzle Stay tuned

Top Trilo
That’s a lot of bones, enough to make a full size ceratopsian 1 “If fossils are not "boggling" your mind then you are simply not doing it right” -Ken (digit) "No fossil is garbage, it´s just not completely preserved” -Franz (FranzBernhard) "With hammer in hand, the open horizon of time, and dear friends by my side, what can we not accomplish together?" -Kane (Kane) "We are in a way conquering time, reuniting members of a long lost family" -Quincy (Opabinia Blues) "I loved reading the trip reports, I loved the sharing, I loved the educational aspect, I loved the humor. It felt like home. It still does" -Mike (Pagurus) “The best deal I ever got was getting accepted as a member on The Fossil Forum. Not only got an invaluable pool of knowledge, but gained a loving family as well.” -Doren (caldigger) "it really is nice, to visit the oasis that is TFF" -Tim (fossildude19) "Life's Good! -Adam (Tidgy's Dad)
Kasia
Welcome back, Sara's faithful followers As this is the last day of her stay in Poland and she is getting ready to pay a visit to the next TFF Member @Pagurus, so her local cousins decided to throw a farewell party for her. The asked me to order a sushi set called T-Rex (no idea, why) so Sara tried a lot of various types of sushi and of course something sweet, too.
Kasia
After the formal part of the celebration, local cousins decided to move the party to another room - and then all the bottles that have mysteriously been gone, reappeared on the table As you can see, all of the dinos offered their own favourite type of alcohol - both various wines as well as high-percentage stuff
Kasia
which, to my surprise, turned out to be the preferred drink.... It took a while for all the dinos to get back on their feet, but once they did, they all gathered to give Sara a farewell present As winter is getting closer, and Sara will continue her journey, they decided to give her a warm winter cap - Sara was really surprised, but she immediately tried it on The cousins are now sure she will be safe and warm for the rest of her journey - the last farewell photo and tomorrow Sara sets off for another great adventure!
