bcfossilcollector
Hi. I’d appreciate some opinions on this Basilosaurus tooth? It’s a beautiful specimen but something feels off. I know it’s repaired. This is currently for sale in Edmonton Alberta. Annual show. I’ve obscured the prices as per forum rules? @Troodon@Boesse@Tidgy's Dad@Andy
bcfossilcollector
Whoops didn’t obscure prices quite good enough. To the moderators please edit if necessary. Sorry.

I'm not a mod, but took a few seconds in MS paint to obscure the prices for you. The tooth looks nice. Hopefully someone on the forum could give you their opinion of it.
Troodon
You really need to remove it from the riker and determine if any of the cusps and roots are restored. Possible color change circled? You cannot make a proper determination with just this view and under glass.

I’m 500 miles away from the show and have someone looking on my behalf. I’ll see if they can get a better picture for me. Thanks Troodon.
Tidgy's Dad
Probably a bit late to the party but I think the roots have been added at the points Frank circled. 1 Life's Good! Tortoise Friend.
Boesse
Roots are an art project to be sure, and it is far too small to be Basilosaurus if those are typical 6" riker cases. Crown seems to resemble the small basilosaurid Chrysocetus.
