 Good morning, I was hoping that somebody could let me know if one of those is sponge and the other one is coral? Or if not could you please tell me what they are?  Also, these were found in Glen Rose Texas, in the country at a creek bed . And that is Somervell County

Voids left by oolites dissolving from the rock would seem to be one possibility for the first one.

This happens sometimes I crop the photos  even just by millimetres. I don’t know why but it works for me.

Btw, can you see any septa in your first specimen? Reminds me somewhat of a cross section of a phaceloid coral colony. Septa are not always preserved, sometimes only tubes are left, like in this example:

No I do not.. but I do have a couple rocks with that in them
