Thanks Tim!

I keep forgetting to add the size's sorry, they're just tiny the Orthacanthus is 5 mm from the base of the root to the tip of the cusps and the Helodus is 3 mm across the crown. I'm thinking this shale has been deposited in a shallow marginal pool of a river channel that juveniles used for protection from adults, you do get the odd larger tooth though which I suppose could be down to flooding?

Sam

Sam,

I thought they might be on the smaller side.

Interesting interpretation of the environment - given the evidence it makes perfect sense.

Thanks for the explanation.

Tim
