Gongrochanus herscheliana
Gongrochanus herscheliana
Kallakurichi Formation
Maastrichtian Age, Late Cretaceous (~70 Ma)
Arialur, Tamil Nadu, India
Acquired from online, July 2023
A fairly uncommon echinoid (and location), it's similarities to Hardouinia piqued my interest in the genus. The test has a rather unusual shape, it vaguely resembles the shape of a hard hat when viewed from the side.
