Kiros Posted January 6, 2020 Posted January 6, 2020 hello everyone, recently I found this lot of canines for sale. the owner knows nothing about them. Now I know that it's really difficult to identify a genus from a canine tooth, but maybe there is someone with more experience than me about florida pleistocene fossils that can help me. thank you for anyone one who can help me.
Kiros Posted January 6, 2020 Author Posted January 6, 2020 maybe the first one on the right in the upper row is from a Procyon?
Thecosmilia Trichitoma Posted January 6, 2020 Posted January 6, 2020 Some them look similiar to Dire wolf canines. It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt -Mark Twain

That would be wonderful but they seems too small to be wolf canines but maybe it was a juvenile specimen. An other big problem in identifying canines is that upper and lowers have different curvatures
Thecosmilia Trichitoma Posted January 6, 2020 Posted January 6, 2020 They could also possibly be odontocete teeth. It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt -Mark Twain
Shellseeker Posted January 6, 2020 Posted January 6, 2020 I think both of these look like procyon.. All 6 teeth seem familiar to a person who hunts fossils in rivers and creeks of the US South East coast 1 The White Queen ".... in her youth she could believe "six impossible things before breakfast"
