Ball Joint Hip?

Hey everyone,

 

A friend of mine won an estate auction where he received a lot of antiques for resale. Knowing I had an interest in fossils, he let me have this. According to him, the estate was located in Florida. This is by far not my area of expertise but I’d love any insight so that I may conduct further research! Any help is appreciated!

I can't see it quite well enough to be positive, but I think its very unlikely to be bone.

Gee. I'm not sure it shows bone texture, but it doesn't help my argument against it.

I'd like to see more photos from all the other sides of this, with better focus and no blurring. Try a tripod or some other absolutely solid way to support the camera so it doesn't move as you release the shutter.
