Psudomorphs you can identify

The following are some pseudomorph minerals I cut open on my saw last night.  I'll show photos front and back of the two specimens, each of which are several inches long. To me, they both appear to be quartzite or florite after barite, but I'm not really a mineral guy so I would happily defer to anyone that can describe them better.  Thanks for the help.

The whole thing looks like sagenitic quartz and chalcedony after an unknown acicular mineral. It looks a little like the purple sagenite agate found near Sheep’s Bridge along the Verde River north of Phoenix.

Where is it from?

My goal is to leave no stone or fossil unturned.

Not positive.  A buddy dropped them off for me to cut open.  The location you named is very possible since he has been collecting all over Arizona, Utah, NM, and Colorado for several decades.  I can certainly ask him though.  Appreciate your comments.

I showed the photo to my buddy and he said, "That looks like purple sagenite from Arizona".  He didn't find it himself, he told me, but it was among a number of buckets of rock bought at an estate or yard sale.  You did great in identifying it.  My guess on the acicular mineral would be barite just by the appearance.
