Who's going to Mazonia-Braidwood/Pit 11 Opening Day 3/1/20?

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one. Hopefully 2 months of no one collecting (including a record wet May!) will have brought plenty to the surface for those heading back out next week.

Awww, you left out the mosquitoes. Now they're sad.

Fossil hunting is easy -- they don't run away when you shoot at them!

Hopefully, still a little early for them.

Well if the dozen bites on my body are any indication, the mosquitoes were quite fierce. No ticks though (I think :fingerscrossed:). It was quite hot in all the protective clothing but still nice to be out. I hiked about halfway around Ponderosa Lake and found a couple productive spots.

Here is the haul

A couple random nature shots

These toads were everywhere. This one was particularly friendly, I kept having to move him since he kept hopping right in front of my knees.

Nice haul!  I think we met in the parking lot.  We went way back into the south west side.

Cheers,

Rich

LOL! No doubt. I’ve heard positive things about the dependability of anti insect attire stored inside a bag, or container, after treated with  permethrin. I’d love to hear your take after using that setup after the season.

Nice haul. I see a few "good ones" in there.
