Lee Creek Matrix Under A Microscope

I think the "fish jaw" is a broken piece of a sting ray barb. The fish teeth are not complete and worn. But I believe they are the same as this.

These teeth have not been ID'd.

But they remind me of the fangs of Speckled Trout.

Bulldozers and dirt Bulldozers and dirt
behind the trailer, my desert
Them red clay piles are heaven on earth
I get my rocks off, bulldozers and dirt

@sixgill peteI will retake pictures of the amber thingy.  Interesting about the barb.   Its is shaped like a triangle with the teeth on top.  Thanks!

The microscope is super easy to use. It seems to be doing the job.

Congrats to kids who gift you a microscope for father's day! You raised them well. :thumbsu:

Would you please share the brand and model of the microscope? It sure seems to be doing a great job. How do you manage to get the extended depth of field? A powerful light with a small aperture, or stacking software?

Nice finds too!

I built my own stand to give more range of movement with the arm and it has worked really well so far.

It certainly seems good for the price! Would you be able to search matrix with it?

I was thinking of doing that.  I dont see why you couldnt.  I have a rather large computer screen so everything shows up rather nice on it.

@Searcher78 have the microscope makes a huge difference

It does, but one must mention or show the size of the tooth. Otherwise, someone will think they are larger teeth.

Hi.  Still finding some cool teeth.  Found this today in the matrix.  I believe it is some type of fish tooth?  5ef38c7a7f64d_WedJun2413-21-09.jpg.d9ec91a5a64683c9a989d8868714ca25.jpg5ef38c7b760b9_WedJun2413-22-53.jpg.cac06426e096ca12e84d1153b75c06a5.jpg

Glad I found this! I've been going through Aurora matrix with limited resources for anything this small. Tons of shark teeth, fish teeth, and immature shellfish. Anyone have any good references for the micros?

I refuse to give up my childish wonder at the world.
