?Sea urchin spines, Kansas Pennsylvanian

Rod shaped structures with central cavity, shape reminded me of urchin spines. Bryozoan and coral in background. I thought about weathered coral but the structures seem too straight.

Yes, sea urchin spines. They should be monocrystalline, that means, they break into pieces with flat, shiny surfaces (like crinoid bits).
