Is This A Bite Mark On This Oreodont Skull?

I received this little partially prepped oreodont skull from an old paleontologist I've connected with and I noticed these two spots on it. Are they just conveniently placed holes? Or are they a bite mark? And if so, from what?

Now I'm looking at oreodont skulls all over the internet and I'm noticing similar "holes" in the same area on a lot of them. So I'm leaning towards this being a part of the anatomy of the animal but I'm open to hearing other opinions.

Clean out the two depressions gently.  A bite depression will have crushed bone (fractures, splinters) at the bottom of the low area.  A magnifying glass should be sufficient to make a determination.
