Jurassic J
I found this chunk of bone in the North Saskatchewan River near Edmonton, Alberta. I know it is only a small fragment but I was wondering if anyone might know what bone this piece came from. I don't know much about the anatomy of animals but to me it looks like possibly the mandibular Rami, or possibly scapula?
Jurassic J
Could it be the proximal femur? Edited January 18, 2023 by Jurassic J typo

Jurassic J
Thanks for looking Val. I don't think the photos do it justice. I think that it would be much easier when looking at the real thing. It curves almost 90degrees, really looks kind of like proximal femur but it is flat, and there is and odd ridge. The other possibilities that come to mind are mandibular rami, or pubis/ischium.
val horn
I would take it in hand to a local fossil club or museum people who collect in the area might recognize what it is a piece of but it is both small broken and tumbled.
