Petrified Snake Head

Found in North Georgia.

Could someone verify that this is a petrified snake head. And what kind of snake (if possible) and how old could it be.

Sorry, but this is not a petrified snake head.  This post has more information and some pictures of actual snake skulls, which you may find helpful:

It's a suggestively shaped rock, but I cannot tell you what type.  Others probably can.

Hello Murchkin and welcome to the forum,

its hard to tell from the foto, but I am quite sure this is a pebble of a metamorphic rock, maybe Gneiss. Those often have a irregular layering that resembles fossils.

What fossilized snake heads look like, pretty rare.  Skull elements are visible not a solid blob

thanks, great one. I asked because it reminds me to a skull (this is not a snake, but the preservation is the same) I have in the collection
