After I rejected the seller’s offer.

He sent me another one.

And he named it is an original piece.

So I upload the photos here.

And I hope to ask the opinions again.

Hope it won’t bother you all too much.

Thank you.

Tell him you would like to see focused, well lit closeup photos of different places on these items.

My initial impression is these are partial skulls with composite parts added or fabricated.

Why does a seller send such blurry, dark and bad photos when he wants to sell something? I think because at least a large part is a composition. If it were original, he or she would emphasize that in order to reach a deal quickly. Only the quality of the photos would make me run away from such providers very hard. Acting very suspicious, there is something to hide!

Neither skull is particularly well put together.

The smaller skull looks like it has had its surangular, internarial bar, and prefrontal fabricated. Note that the quadrate and right jugal are also completely missing.

The larger skull appears to be a prognathodontine mosasaur, but several teeth are placed or from different species. The bones around the orbit are misplaced and give the skull a deformed appearance. It should be approximately circular. Quadrate missing on this skull too.

Yeah neither look good really. Missing important anatomy and incorrectly reconstructed parts.

My opinion is you would be better off seeking out a plaster jacket that contains enough high quality, original material to prep out and reconstruct a skull. That way, there's no doubt as to what is in it. I know there are legit prepped skulls out there, but the majority of the ones I see for sale look like Frankenstein pieces.

This is what I plan to do, anyways, minus the prep/reconstruction part. I actually tend to prefer the look of in situ pieces.
