Help. What are these neat little fossil shells? 

 Palmetto Florida found in the dirt pile delivered for

housing project.

The bottom picture...the shell in the middle is a Common Florida Clam. The name for it has something to do with 'frilly'. It would have had long spines coming from the top shell. When we find them like this they are always broken off. At least that's what I think.

You are probably thinking of the name Leafy Jewel Box. Does look to be a species in the genus Chama. @MikeR weighed-in on a similar topic some years back. This may be the same or similar species.
