This was found in North Idaho while rockhounding through a creek. It is abnormaly heavy for rock. Can anyone help me identify this? Here are some pictures. Thank you.

I don't think this can be definitely called wood from the indications seen here. If wood is common in the area it would seem reasonable to think it likely though.
