Found on the bank of Lake Michigan, Racine, WI - March 2023.

Was told possibly a horn coral?

I know absolutely nothing about this fossil and was hoping someone could help me out with an exact ID and info.

Ever since I was 4yrs old and found several pieces of petrified wood on my great grandpa's land, I've loved collecting rocks!

I'm now 60yrs old and still collecting rocks, fossils and indian artifacts . (arrowheads, tools, etc)

Quite possibly, but perhaps retake the photo with the specimen in focus as opposed to placing it on a cigarette pack on a distracting blanket. ;)

Looks more like a gastropod to me.

Cropped, and brightened:

Try taking your pictures in natural daylight, on a flat, single color surface, from directly above the item.

Take pictures of all 4 sides, and each end - looking straight on to the ends.

Additional pictures would definitely help.  It is rock-type material, correct?  From these pictures, it looks very similar to a specific type of driftwood I often find in the Summerville creeks.

My favorite things about fossil hunting: getting out of my own head, getting into nature and, if I’m lucky, finding some cool souvenirs.
