Just How Rare, are 6 Inch plus Megalodon Teeth?

I always hear that they are very rare; but every year dealers set up at numerous fossil shows in the United States, with huge boxes full of giant Meg Teeth.  Regardless, they sure aren't cheap!!!

No large megs are not cheap.

In my area, megalodons are relatively common, but teeth over 6 inches are not. However they can be found with persistance. If you know where to find them.

Bulldozers and dirt Bulldozers and dirt
behind the trailer, my desert
Them red clay piles are heaven on earth
I get my rocks off, bulldozers and dirt

If you look to buy one and have a high budget, you'll find them. However, to find one yourself, it is very rare, especially to find one in decent shape.

Also keep in mind that in those large shows you have many people selling partial or complete fakes of everything. Just because they have a lot, doesnt mean they are real.

6 inchers are rare (both at fossil sites and for sale) - that's why it is always a celebration when they are found. However, they are not impossible to find. Good luck!

They're very rare. Expect to either spend a lot of time searching for one in the field, and possibly never finding one, or spending quite a bit of money.
