Vertebra or fossil ID

Recommended Posts

i found this possible atlas vertebra this morning, on a beach in Ballinskelligs, Kerry, on the West coast of Ireland.

I would appreciate it if anyone could have a stab at identification.

I think its some sort of whale, but I've no idea how old or what type. Many Thanks.

Have you tried a burn test?

That will tell us if it is modern or fossilized.  Does it feel heavy?

Cropped, brightened, and contrasted.
