Suchomimus

Niger

Elhraz Formation

Length - 2.21 inches

Base length at root - 20 mm

Base width from mesial view - 17 mm

Received this tooth last Saturday. I really love the ridges and the midline of the distal side has fine serrations visible to the eye but doesn't show up great on cell phone camera. It's a really thick tooth and usually Suchomimus teeth are usually worn but this one isn't too much. It has similarities in shape to my Baryonyx and may take pics of them side by side soon.

Thescelosaurus neglectus (maxillary tooth)

Carter County, Montana

Hell Creek Formation

Late Cretaceous Period (67-66 mya)

Size: 7/16"+

Been wanting one of these little fellas for a long time now. Described by seller as a juvenile Thescelosaurus. Not sure how they came to that conclusion maybe because of the size. The root is very interesting it has a bulbous part at the bottom which I haven't seen very often. A friend said that they think this bulbous part is the very base of the very bottom tooth when there are no replacement teeth as usually at the very bottom of the root there is a depression where the replacement tooth goes. Not sure if that differs for teeth of this dinosaur though.

Reading Troodon's post here Pachycephalosaurid/Thescelosaurus Tooth Identification - General Fossil Discussion - The Fossil Forum, I'd say the tooth position closely matches the anterior mt1 or mt2 but I'm far from an expert!

Today when I arrived home from work I found a large Priority box waiting for me. The contents of the box contained Miocene Withlacoochee Coral that was offered up by John @Sacha , to benefit the Forum. The below pictures do not do these pieces justice.

The one piece that I was waiting to see, separated during delivery, but I am glad that it did, in my opinion,it will display like a great cave cathedral.

Here are the other pieces that were offered in the auction, both pieces are really great.

I love the look of that piece! Now you just need some tiny plastic people you can rig up climbing harnesses and litter cave hats and set up a spelunking diorama :b_idea:

Recurved some brachiopods in the mail yesterday,

They are all from Tennessee which is exciting as I didn't have any fossils from that region.

First is this Atrypa reticularis with some other organisms attached to it, it has a somewhat pearlescent sheen to it which I find quite beautiful. This is my first fossil from the Lower Devonian Birdsong formation and now that I am looking up more about that formation I really want to add more of those brachiopods to my collection, they are all so beautiful and interesting.

I also got three Platystrophias, this is a genus that is very common and I have wanted to get some for a long time so I am excited about these too. All of the ones I've seen online are from KY, but I guess TN also has them.

Unfortunately this was found located in alluvial glacial till. The brachiopod's order is the best I could ID it to, I think everything else would be pure speculation. Hails from Wyandotte County, Kansas. A shame such a unique :brachiopod: is missing a complete label!

Something arrived on my doorstep which I'd been awaiting with bated breath for a couple of weeks. Kris @Ptychodus04 had offered to part with a Green River Mioplosus labracoides which he had prepared and shown us in his fish prep thread, an offer which I just couldn't turn down. He also took the time to attach the plate to a plywood board and pack it with such loving care that it survived the trip overseas completely unscathed. The fish is 37cm. long and now has its place on the wall overlooking my fishy shelf. Needless to say, I'm thrilled with it. Thanks Kris!!
