Looks like a ham bone.

Have you tried the flame test?

Definitely looks like a fairly modern ham bone.

Accomplishing the impossible means only that the boss will add it to your regular duties.

I was thinking the same thing.  Looks a bit more like a beef bone.  It seems to be completely stone.  What is the flame test?

Hold the item in a steady flame. If it burns (turns black)  or gives off any odor of burnt hair, there is collagen remaining, and therefore, it is "modern". 

 

To be a fossil the item needs to be completely mineralized.  Mineralized bone will not burn.

 

Generally this takes over 10,000 years. But, ... there are different circumstances which may cause mineralization to happen more quickly.
