Fossilized mushroom

My mom found this in the Black Forest in Germany when she was really little. This was over 60 years ago. Could it be a fossilized mushroom?

Sorry to disappoint you, but this is just an interestingly shaped rock. Petrified mushrooms are extremely rare. They don't live for very long and their soft bodies tend to decay quickly. According to the Smithsonian institute, only 10 fossilized mushrooms have ever been discovered.

Very cool. It is super light weight and I feel like it is neither wood or rock. It would be cool to find out what it is.
