Heya. Recently found this rock (or bone?) in glacial till, about 2 or 3 feet down in a hole. Not sure exactly if it’s bone or not so I’m posting it on here. It’s about 2 inches long and about an inch or an inch and a half wide.

Looks more like a rock to me, possibly a metamorphic one.

Is there a way to tell for sure

I’m seeing laminations and rock pebbles or crystals (not sure which without sharper focused pictures) in the broken part (pictures 2-4) which would indicate rock. I’m not really seeing bone texture or any identifying bone features in this rock.

This is definitely metamorphic rock. As Wiki would say it shows show pronounced schistosity (I think). :)
