Izan
The leaf (5cm long) cames from Fumanya Sud site, in Spain. It's about 72-70 million years old. In geological context it is found in the Tremp Formation, specifically in the group called "Unitat Gris", also know as Gray Garumnian. Does anyone have any idea what species it's or what group it belongs to? Thanks. If you want more photos or information for a better identification, ask! 2
piranha
The second linked paper below has a similar fragment of an unidentified eudicot, however, your find may represent an important species. Josep Marmi is the corresponding author and should be able to assist with additional information. Please post here with any new details. Marmi, J. 2016 Taxonomic Revision of the J. piranha
1 hour ago, Izan said: What do you mean with "important species" It has importance if it represents a potential new and previously undescribed species. It may also be significant as a nearly complete specimen, considering the fragmentary condition of the figured leaves in Villalba-Breva et al. 2015. You should contact the specialist as I suggested....he can better evaluate the scientific value of your discovery.

Izan
Hi everyone! My research trying to identify the genus or species of the fossil leaf hasn't stopped, and although I have not yet found a way to contact Josep Marmi, I have found this PDF (in catalan) which talks about the fossils found in the Syncline from Vallcebre. On pages 13, 14 and 15 they talk about the paleobotanics of this area. Also, in the last two pages (20 and 21) appears a table with the fossil species found in the area. Contrasting information, I think the leaf could belong to Juglandaceae, Engelhardia or Betulaceae, according to the images I have seen on Google. I want to know your opinion and any information you can provide will be very appreciated!
