Found one more fossil

Recently I found a fossil on the beach of central Vietnam that on this forum has been identified as a turtle. Today we found one more fossil on the same beach that looks similar to the previous one. But I would like to ask you for confirmation. Is this a turtle or something else?

Thank you for your help.

It looks like it but please include size measurements as this can change what you are seeing

Looks like softshell turtle but as mentioned size matters.

I don't think human fingers very in size enough to affect the identification of this piece. The texture looks right for it to be a piece of soft-shelled turtle carapace.

Looks like a huge variance, to me.

I understand the point you are making, but having some more reliable form of scale in the picture is more helpful than fingers. Bottom line.

@Ja123 -- I do see you have a ruler in the image, although it seems a bit worse for wear, making the numbers a bit challenging to read. You might also tell us if it is in centimetres or inches. If you do not have a more clearly readable ruler or tape measure, you can just tell us the dimensions.

Can someone explain how knowing the size to a greater degree of precision would change any aspect of its identification?

Let's not go down this rabbit hole.

We do hope and expect members provide precise measurement when making identification queries. As I see the OP has provided a not so clear ruler in the images, a followup request for precise measurements to get members into the habit is not a bad thing. ;)

Short answer: It doesn't really matter IN THIS INSTANCE.

Long answer: It's good to get some type of measurements, in MOST cases.

Thank you for your reply. I'm sorry if the ruler in the photo's isn't very clear. With this post I send clearer pictures. They are in centimetres.
