citronkitten
Hi! Welcome from another newbie! One type of your fossils is super common in the UK along the Jurassic Coast and I have personally found about 30 while on a public expedition with guides from the Charmouth Heritage Centre. <https://charmouth.org/chcc/belemnites/> One of the very few fossils that that I, as an absolutely amateur, would feel comfortable identifying with any degree of confidence; happy to see your post and be able to contribute! For preparation, it's recommended online to use 600-1200 wet/dry sandpaper, get it wet, and just polish, polish away with elbow grease. I haven't finished mine yet (pretty boring and tiring at the same time as a process) and am still testing different final coats (tried metal polish which failed, have read perhaps beeswax or clear nail polish). Hope this helps!
