North
I desided to try couple marine reptile models. I had some troubles with first one, but I tried to fix them with the second ones. First one Following ones with more straight posture and skipped teeth. Need more practise with paint job and better color selection. 13 There's no such thing as too many teeth. Mahnmut
Those are great! I guess you let the teeth harden before putting them in? And I wonder if you could improve your sculptures even more by using fine tools? The proportions and poses are perfekt in my eyes, finer textures and details could boost those sculptures to new levels. (Or rather, do not do that, it could harm my self esteem as an aspiring palaeoartist...) Best regards, J 1 Try to learn something about everything and everything about something Thomas Henry Huxley

Biggest issue with this material is that it is very soft, you can make details, but you easily loose them by touching etc. But perhaps I figure how to. I also try to find better paints, similar to ones I used for oil paintings. There's no such thing as too many teeth.
Mahnmut
I see. with "real" clay there is the possibility to shape the details when its halfway hardened, but you will know your materials. I find that looking at modern animals always beats coming up with something from scratch. I often look at a couple modern color patterns from animals with similar lifestyles to the creature I am reconstructing, and then coming up with a compromise, or something new that draws from multiple patterns.

That is true. What could be more natural than nature itself. I felt that getting good colors was easier with oil paints, since it mixes well. But with these achrylics Im not getting natural looking colors. There's no such thing as too many teeth.
North
New Mosasaurus model. I increased size of the model so it was easier to work with. Stomach is actually more light brownish. Close up to show added colors. Light needs to be in correct angle for those to pup up. Showing pterygoid teeth. 1 7 There's no such thing as too many teeth.
