Carbon Plant

Hi Forum

Could someone help me in determination  the plant in atachment

Its carbon , and thought Piesberg ( Germany) as location

The matrix is 10*10 cm

Looks like some form of Lepidodendron to me. Wait for Paleoflor, as Tim really knows his Carboniferous plants.

Hi Vincent,

 

This looks like -as @Fossildude19 wrote already- a leafy shoot of Lepidodendron, probably L. lycopodioides (or perhaps L. acutum if the leaves are clearly S-shaped; this is difficult to judge from the photo). Are you sure this specimen originates from the Piesberg, though? The preservation looks rather unusual for the locality...

Hi Tim,

I am not sure about the location. This was a gift to me , together with some Piesberg fossils, but the matrix looks different.
