FB003 Posted March 17 Share Posted March 17 If formation is unknown then you have an unknown theropod tooth unfortunately in most cases (ex: spinosaurid is very obviously spinosaurid). The only way density or any other feature can help is if you know the formation and location it was found and the location contains both tyrannosaurid and megalosaurid in it already. If you have a solid location then there are ways to determine what you actually have from there.
