Below is a dolphin tooth being sold as that of a Goniodelphis hudsoni, from the Peace River Formation in Florida. The tooth does not look like that of a Goniodelphis, however, as they appear to much more rounded. I personally suspect it's from Delphinodon, given that I have seen some similar teeth identified as such on other ID threads on the forum, but I can't say for sure. I must once again call upon your wisdom, @Shellseeker, and I believe @Boesse is also something of a cetacean expert. I'm yet to purchase the tooth, so I haven't got many pictures at my disposal.

Thanks in advance for any guidance

Goniodelphis has different shaped teeth anterior and posterior.

See this thread

Here is the Anterior version

Oh yes I forgot about that. The closest matches I could find to the tooth were these images:

Further research suggests that, given the tooths size and shape, it could be Hadrodelphis instead. However, it appears that fossil cetacean taxonomy, particularly that of "Kentriodontidae" is a mess, and I'm struggling to find a comprehensive overview of the current consensus regarding current consensus on that front. What taxonomic groups are still considered valid?
