I bought this from someone at a mineral show and they didn't know what it was. It’s roughly 10 by 10 inches. I honestly know nothing about where it was collected or how old it is. I hope someone might have an idea based on these pictures. Thank you.

Without location info, chances of identifying this are pretty low.

Not sure if this is fossil related, or mineral related.

Doesn't look like any fossils I've ever seen, though.  :unsure:

It's easy to imagine an iron sulfide mineral crystallizing out this way. Sort of a pyrite sun that didn't quite make the grade.

Thank you both for your responses. This definitely seems like it could be an iron mineral that I mistook for some kind of fossil.
