Heteromorph ammonite from Morocco- Real or a forged stone?

I got this one from an auction recently. It has been glued back together as it arrived damaged. However, I wonder if it is real or just a fabrication made from stone. I would appreciate your input!

Thanks!

I think this is pieced together from a number of different specimens, and also partially carved, at least. :(

I know next to nothing about ammonites, but from an artist perspective you can see amateurishly carved lines perpendicular to the ammonite shell curve.

Horrible filling also, I would avoid like the plague.
