Tony,

It's Mobula. As far as I know, the Sharktooth Hill form has not been formally named to species.

Jess

Thanks Jess,

I finally got one half right!!

Tony,

I saw him at Tucson. The thing you have to understand about him is that he has at least two jobs and a wife - great lady who is very understanding about his compulsion to buy/dig sharks teeth. He goes through periods where he's focused on work and family. When he gets some free nights and weekends, that's when the FF gets a flurry of posts and photos from him.

I saw part of his collection years ago. Believe me, he has some ugly teeth just like anyone else and he likes those just as much.

Seeing this thread get bumped might lure him out of hiding.

Jess

Nice teeth Guys!!

Does anyone know what happened to Isurus?

Some really nice material added here .. several beautiful Parotodus teeth, a very nice portuguese tooth .. have been out of commission for a while, although I've been checking updates over the past couple of months. Hope everyone is doing well.

Hey Tony, thanks, all is well.

I'm in the process of getting used to the new tools available for posting pictures and have started to upgrade some of the pictures on page 1 of this topic. Hopefully the higher quality pictures and multiple views will give you a better impression of the teeth. I've done 3 of the great whites on page 1 so far.

A new discovery in some matrix from Round mountain silt (Sharktooth hill). It is 1/4 inch long.

Sorry but I do not know where it belongs taxonomically.
