snakebite6769
Is it typical to find Devonian trilobites in concretions or are concretions in a certain era or time period?
squalicorax
I think fossil bearing concretions are typically found in environments that support concretion growth. hitekmastr
When we were at Deer Lake, I told Rob that I've heard about trilos being found in concretions and I told him I've probably cracked hundreds of concretions that looked promising but all I found inside was fossilized mud! Then I proceeded to extract a few concretions exactly the same size and shape he showed me where he was finding trilos inside - but all of mine had solid mud inside. So this technique is definitely a great trilobite finding trick - but doesn't seem to work for me!
