Kosmoceras
Darren, what an amazing trip! It looks like you found some decent specimens which would make nice casts on a future trip. Despite not having anything to physically hold, the pictures are stunning - thanks for posting them. All the best,
Welsh Wizard
Darren Very inspirational stuff. Makes for a really good thread. By the way, do you know if there are any other UK Precambrian fauna sites? Thanks Nick

DE&i
Great report + photos! I was thinking the same thing re IDs as TMNH.. but it's so hard to tell - erosion has really taken its toll. I wonder what these looked like when they were freshly exposed..... Thank you, Yes i wonder....and thanks again for that lighting tip it felt like hours kneeling down watching the face of that large slab....and then WHAM..when the start to come into view was a real surreal moment. DE&i
Awesome trip! Those are incredible fossils, I envy your proximity to a locality like that (someday I'll make it to Mistaken Point!). At a glance, picture 2 in post # 19 looks like Bradgatia http://media.rcip-chin.gc.ca/ac/rom1912/Bradgatia-ROM-36500-JBC_2.jpg. Picture 3 in post #21 could be one as well. Some of the disk shaped fossils (e.g. post #21, picture 1) may be holdfasts http://www.discussfossils.com/forum/uploads/1040/primho11.jpg. Thank you very much, There’s only a small window of opportunity of about 2 hours for the best lighting to bring them out of which I missed the first hour. I’ll put that trip down as a reccy mission, thank you for running a rule over them I’m following up your observations tonight. Edit : It’s just been brought to my attention you were right with the identification of picture 2 in post # 19 and Picture 3 in post #21 they are indeed Bradgatia specimens. Of the occasional Bradgatia specimens to be found at various localities, these two are actually part of 5 in this one bedding plane alone, from 10cm to 55cm circa across....I just couldn’t see the other 3 ! DE&i
Really fascinating. Thanks for sharing....enjoying the photos. Someday plan a trip to Newfoundland...a hop, skip across the ocean. Just south of St Johns is 'Mistaken Point' with an incredible display of similar aged fossils. It's also just a neat natural area with lots of good hiking. Thank you for viewing, As you well know when you through stunning scenery into the same pot it makes for a great day.....i hope "Mistaken Point" comes your way very soon. DE&i
Brilliant finds, Darren! That big slab will be there when you get the casting supplies sorted out. Thank you very much, Elliot and I will tackle it on a cold sunny winters day. Wish I could see it in person. That large slab sure looks like the same rock I have seen pics of at Mistaken Point. (Britain and Newfoundland were connected back then, were they not?...) (Britain and Newfoundland were connected back then, were they not?...) Yes that’s right also with Wales and eventually Scotland too, I found this really nice sketch Of Precambrian Leicestershire... containing: Primocandelabrum, Bradgatia, Charnia, Charniodiscus, Iveheadia, Cyclomedusa, Thectardis and 'discs'….. Perhaps “Mistaken Point” would have looked similar. Wrangellian
Yes, I believe a lot of those same taxa are present in both places.
