barefootgirl
Weather cooled off a lot and I had the opportunity to get out more this month so I hit my creeks and other spots. These last couple rains really helped turn some stuff over. These are all from my red river woodbine spot. Worm colony tiny ammonite ammonite only found half of this ammonite various small ammonites Petrified wood First point found second point found on the next day found this little scraper, it had been sharpened and worked on all four sides. heartbreakers and some working tools. barefootgirl
Here are some of my finds from one of my favorite spots. It got beat up but this ammonite was still nice enough to bring home This big nautilus was really fun to dig out sweet little point just waiting to be found baculite, in this area they tend to be white since they have crystalized. Not sure what kind of shell this is but it is beautiful. Always one of my favorite things to find a fairly nice sized ptychodus mortoni ammonite In formal logic, a contradiction is the signal of defeat: but in the evolution of real knowledge, it marks the first step in progress toward victory. Katfish61
What great finds you have there. Looking forward to seeing more!! I haven't made it that far north in a while . I'm ready to hit the spots I was so rudely chased out of this summer by the heat. The weather here is perfect. Kathy
barefootgirl
Tera, it makes me smile to know that you've been able to get your 'mojo' back. Great finds! Thanks John, after nursing school was finished it took me a bit to get my mojo back. All that studying left me feeling like a zombie and social pariah. I'm finally starting to feel like my old self again and I know it's the fossil hunting that is helping with that. You really made a haul, hard to pick out any one, all are awesome, leave some seed for me----Tom Tom there are some sites out there that have really gotten good. One place in particular I have been wanting to show you that you would never suspect was a good place to hunt since it's not part of the creek itself. It's where I find most of the ptychodus and ammonites and turtle pieces. Let me know when you come in next time so I can take you and show you. I would really love to show you some of these new spots. I also saw an otter out there last time I was hunting. I probably just missed you out that way when you were out there. barefootgirl
Yeah, snow kind of throws all of us southern people for a loop. I sure as heck don't want to hunt in it.
