JamieLynn
I'm heading out to La Grange Texas for Thanksgiving and am wondering if there are any good places to look for fossils. It appears to be mostly Miocene and Pliocene. Not sure what to look for as my area is mostly cretaceous. Anybody live out near there that would like to go hunting on Thanksgiving? www.fossil-quest.com
happy2Bhere
Jamie, I'm not from that area, but know from watching fossil hunting trips here on FF, that Whiskey Bridge is a major stop down in that part of Texas. Not sure you want to drive over there, but I believe it is west of College Station, so in your general vicinity. Apparently it's a great site. Just google Whiskey Bridge, or search here. Have a great trip.
JamieLynn
I read that the largest Mammoth skull on record was found in a gravel pit outside of La Grange. Perhaps I will be lucky.... hahhaa! www.fossil-quest.com
