Please Help Me Identify! Thank You!

Recommended Posts

Hello all. I am trying to identify the attached 2 pieces. They are both found in western Massachusetts, and came in a large collection that I just purchased. I'm sure many of you know exactly what they are. Please educate me! Thanks for the help as always.

The first 2 pictures are of a Calamites. The other 2 are probable Lepidodendron. Both are Paleozoic plants.

My goal is to leave no stone or fossil unturned.

I wasn't aware of any carboniferous deposits on the western end of Massachusetts?

Are you sure the locality information is correct there?

I know there are carboniferous aged sediments on the eastern side of that state.

I concur with the others, Calamites and Sigillaria.
