JohnJ
The Winner of the April 2015 Invertebrate / Plant Find Of The Month is the Cuspiteuthis (formerly Youngibelus) tubularis belemnite from the Lower Jurassic Whitby Mudstone Formation, Mulgrave Shale Member on the North Yorkshire coast, UK! Congratulations, again, to Tarquin (TqB) on his third win this year! The elegance of his "common" belemnite find edged ahead of the other worthy contenders. TqB
Many thanks, everybody! I didn't expect actually to win with a belemnite and it was a very close competition with some excellent entries. I'm glad that an example of this often overlooked group got a few people looking at it! Tarquin

TqB
Thanks again for the kind comments! I have a few longer belemnites (mostly Megateuthis) but this species has the most extreme proportions. Edited May 10, 2015 by TqB Tarquin
