What are these?

I would have guessed bone for the first specimen.

The main comment I will make is the preservation is completely different to the second specimen so being a creek find unlikely both are from the same formation / age.

But will sway to someone with a better knowledge of the formation

The first specimen is a bone shard.

Second is a fenestrate bryozoan.

Dating the bone shard is going to be hard; could be fairly recent.

Just did another search hoping to find more but nothing. The creek bottom has a lot of clay in some areas and silt in some.

Rockwood, excellent idea, I'll do that! I'll do that. Marvin Martain reminds me of myself a lot, a somewhat smart idiot! Ha

I agree, first item is bone, likely modern, possibly a bit of butcher remains or deer.

Second is a bryozoan.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but when you say could be modern, how old is considered modern when it comes to fossils.

Less than 10,000 years, ... I believe.

Hold a match or lighter to it ... if it smells like burning hair, it's modern.
