alsatites
Amazing find and prep! I will officially announce that I'm utterly jealous of it ☺. Did most of the take place in March? I couldn't imagine the time it took. Best regards, Paul Hello Paul, I would also be envious when it would belong to another, but that's life. I did not count the hours, but it was a lot of work. Size and weight are shown. The preparation could therefore only take place outdoors, so the project rested largely during the winter. I made the fine preparation of the surface in Februry/March Best regards, Peter

Terry Dactyll
Mega - Coroniceras An exceptional find in a 3 square meters block in May 2015 from a construction site in Stuttgart, Germany . There was much work to split the block. Unfortunately only the outer turns separated. The inner calcite-windings splitted horizontally. SAM_4979.JPG Obviously an unprofitable job to prepare it. On the other hand I was sure, that I would never find such a piece again. Only these Calzite- chambers were visible in the rock. RIMG0822.JPG After the parts were glued together, I quickly realized that every hour would be worth working. RIMG0880.JPG RIMG0892.JPG RIMG0895.JPG RIMG0903.JPG Diameter of the wooden ball is 50 cm Coroniceras (Metophioceras) longidomus, Sinemurium (Lias Alpha 3) Diameter 80 cm, weight about 100 kg. Preparation finished in March 2016. Peter Yikes.... Serious ammonite.... Congratulations on the find and prep.... Awsome.... Cheers Steve... And Welcome if your a New Member... jpc
It is a strong month for Marine Reptiles.... Jurassic, Sundance Formation, Natrona County, Wyoming. Here is my contribution. I am not going to ID it beyond plesiosaur. Found on 12 March, collected on 20 March, about three hours prep finished today, 27 March. This is only my second plesiosaur fossil, so I am pretty chuffed about it. Esp because there were a few other bones with it (maybe more in the hillside). Here it is in the field, exposed. A bit of the centrum was already washed away. Note the second vert to the right. (Pen for scale). Here is the specimen all done. This is the side that was down in the rock, so it is mostly all there. And here is what was the 'up' side, note the missing edge of the centrum. And just for scale... Edited March 29, 2016 by jpc

The fact that you even got into the Peace and found anything with the river level running high due to unseasonable rains is amazing.
