Steve, Its 7:22am!  Night has come and gone, Santa has come already...he left mine in the mailbox on Saturday. But Im sure those of you that escaped the dreaded naughty list will get lots of nice little toys.  Happy Christmas everybody!!!

If I get a Mazon Creek fossil does it count as a lump of coal?  Not sure whether I should try for the naughty list next year.

Or you could get on the other list and join in on the goodies.

I must use the last day of basking in the warm glow of my MOTM win wisely.

Tomorrow some other deserving soul takes on the mantle and I will go quiet here to allow them to bathe in the glory.

So :

A very Happy New Year's Eve, everyone! :)

Three self bought gifts to give to wifey to give to me for Christmas!

First up a large and beautiful specimen of what I am taking to be ( at first glance) the Middle Ordovician trilobite Colpocoryphe rouaulti .

Shown next to the standard sized and preservation of the closely related Flexicalymene ouzregui for comparison.

Next a nice specimen of a branching tabulate coral akin to Thamnopora or a branching bryozoan from the Devonian of the Ma'ader Basin, Morocco.

Great corals I really like the horn coral, is it from Morocco. Nice trilobites the colpocoryphe Rouaulti is a beautify.

Also a very nice way to finish the MOTM post with you showing us some of your Moroccan treasures.

Good work Adam

Thank you, Bobby, yes, they're all from Morocco.

The horn coral and the bryozoan from the same location.

The three together cost me about 6 quid! :D

"Whats all this I here about you Moroccans using squid for money,  that's just down right cruel!  How would you like to be plucked from your watery environment and be used as currency?!"

I think PETA might have something to say about this!!!

By the way, congratulations on your MOTM win again.

Not any old squid.

Sick squid.

Using them as currency can be considered a form of rehabilitation.

Possibly.
