I found this "spiky head" chert fossil in Pennsylvanian Naco Formation Limestone NW of Payson, Arizona near Pine. The "head" is about 1/3 inch across. Is  it a crinoid head without arms, what kind?

Thanks,

John

My goal is to leave no stone or fossil unturned.

Maybe holdfast? Got a similarly shaped (different replacement mineral) thing from the red wall FM I believe to be a crinoid holdfast.

Happy hunting,

Mason

Thank you for your help. I might send a photo to a person who researches Naco echinoderms.

My goal is to leave no stone or fossil unturned.
