Hi Jai, neat teeth cannot believe i missed this post!

However, I believe the Dinosaur Park Formation is much further south of Drumheller.  Drumheller is surrounded by the Horseshoe Canyon Formation and Scollard Formation.  Still from a rare location but something to look into!

Agree most deposits around Drumheller are associated with HCF which would make those teeth Albertosaurus. Scollard is north of Calgary.  In addition Appalachiosaurus is not described from that formation its a Tyrannosaurid indet.  Nice teeth

Red X is Drumheller.

  • 1 month later...

Received this Megalosaurus Bullion colour coin from the Royal Mint. Its part of a collection of three coins. The last two are being released in March and April (Iguanodon and Hylaeosaurus). Incredibly impressed with the quality and detail in the coin.

Says that fossils of Appalachiosaurus were found in central Alabama, from the Demopolis Chalk Formation. Fossil material assigned to A. montegomeriensis is also known from the Donoho Creek and Tar Heel-Coachman formations of Northand South Carolina. Sorry i can't spell i just noticed now that i've spelt the formation as Tar Hell rather than Tar Heel! According to the person who found this tooth it was found near the location where they had also previously found 6 other teeth (the 6 other teeth were found in the same spot (1 of which is my other appalachiosaurus)) the more complete of these teeth were donated to a local museum where they are confirmed as appalachiosaurus but who knows too many unknowns like alot of teeth!

There were two clean breaks in the crown which were simply set back together and the tooth has no restoration. When I got this tooth I was also offered another rooted one on the matrix from a different seller but their tooth had crack fill and the root was poorer preserved which I decided to avoid. The individual I got it from has been fortunate enough to have worked with some big fossils in the past and I was lucky to find it when I did as he's pretty much sold off all of his dinosaur fossils!

Sauropod tooth

Teruel, Spain

Villar del Arzobispo Formation

Possibly Turiasaurus. Bears alot of similarities to Madasgascan teeth and the preservation also matches photos from a publication on Turiasaurus. From an old collection.
