I though, let's throw in some fossils as well to celebrate and here is what we got! A Calamites trunk imprint from Ibbenburen in Germany, Carboniferous An unidentified fish from the Kemkem beds in Morocco, 95 million years old A Beluga vertebrae found in the North Sea in The Netherlands, 40 000 years old A rooted Mosasaurus beaugei tooth from Oued Zem in Morocco, 70 million years old A Pathological Otodus obliquus tooth from Oued Zem in Morocco, 60 million years old A Crocodile tooth (I guess it might belong to Elosuchus) from the Kemkem beds in Morocco, 95 million years old A piece of shell from a Box Turtle (Terrapine carolina), found in Aucilla River, Florida in the USA, around 1 million years old A piece of Mookaite from West Australia, 125 - 113 million years old And I also got these 4 information cards with real leafs and branches of some living fossil plant species. They are amazing eductional props and make for great display pieces to accompany their fossil counterparts. Here are a few of the new ones in use: A small Riker with my various dinosaur fossils A floating display for my amber and copal pieces And here are some of the folding boxes to neatly seperate the fossil in my archive cabinet The rest of them are currently stored in my desk for future use! A piece of Dominican Amber with an ant inclusion, Dominican Republic, 30 - 25 million years old (and my largest piece of Amber with inclusion to date) A piece of Burmite amber with a Pseudoscorpion & insect larvae inclusion, Myanmar, 95 million years old My first piece of Cretaceous amber! But scince only one mineral vein of yellow Brucite is known to date I fear prices might rise pretty fast when that vein is depleted. And I plan on buying a Nannotyrannus tooth in the near future to display here. My White River Formation display My Hoegaarden Petrified Wood display My Triassic display which I hope to expand in the next 2 - 3 months My Oued Zem collection display My Kemkem display, although I am still waiting for my 1,80 meter long Spinosaurus skull wall mound to accompany these pieces! My Jurassic Coast display which I hope to expand before march with some museum quality replica's like a Ophthalmosaurus paddle and a juvenile Ichthysaurus skeleton And I don't think I've posted photos of my 2 living room showcases since I've moved the fossils to the fossil room. A unidentified cretaceous turtle bone from Oued Zem in Morocco (70 million years old) And a fossilized great white (Carcharodon carcharias) tooth from an old collection, found in the Atacama desert in Chile (4 million years old) One of my most expensive shark teeth, normally I am not willing to spend a lot of money to shark teeth but when this one came up for sale I had to grab it! I've always wanted to have a Great White tooth, but due to CITES regulation it's very hard to uptain legally collected modern great white teeth, so I am very happy one with the fossilized one!
