Mahnmut
Hello fellow forum Members, something different, which should go into my "some paint added" thread, because I did not make it, only painted it. Because most models posted there are synapsida now, I decided to post it with its fellow fish. Model from here: https://www.paleocraft.com/dunkleosteus.html, I have had it for several years now and finally found the courage and time to paint it. There may come more detail. Reddish colour is inspired by color preservation of groenlandaspis. I am aware of this topic https://www.reddit.com/r/Paleontology/comments/s361ti/new_speculative_reconstruction_of_dunkleosteus_by/ concerning reconstruction and find it plausible, still the model is as it is and I like it. Maybe I can sculpt a more realistic one sometime. And now without further ado, Dunkleosteus: 4 Try to learn something about everything and everything about something Thomas Henry Huxley

I just received Darren Naishs "Ancient Sea Reptiles" in the mail, which is really an enyoyable and informative overview. Among the things I learned is that my Cyamodus is wrong: Because I could not find references for the ventral side at the time I built it with a closed shell like Henodus, I just learned that they had only dorsal armor. There are some other projects before I will revisit Cyamodus, but good to know.
