Real or fake: Insect from Wyoming

Pterosaur, ammonite and amber seem to be real.

It's real opal, but not sure it's a bivalve.

Again, other angles would help.

If that’s not a bivalve, it’s a dang good fake. @FrostbyteFossils I’d say it’s real. Its been polished a decent amount which is probably what’s throwing off @Tidgy's Dad.

Here are a couple of pics of a fly fossil from the Green river that's in my collection. I took the close ups with a microscope. As someone stated before you can see the fine details of it.

Thank goodness! Haha! Sorry bout me bad camera. Thanks. Phew. :D

The camera is excellent, only the angle of the photo is that it was initially dubious, because there are many fish teeth from Kem Kem beds being sold as if they were from pterosaurs...  ;)

Is It real, or it's not real, that's the question!

You are welcome my friend! :dinothumb:

The your, It is definitely a bivalve opalized, although it has been quite polished. Recently I bought a Petrified Wood that is also supposedly opalized:

But I will only be sure that it is opalized when it arrives, and if it arrives, because here in South America it is difficult to wait so long for an international purchase to arrive, and this, when it arrives. :(

For sure! Even more so here in South America where packages are constantly lost...

Pterosaurid teeth like you have illustrated are very common that size from Kem Kem. It wouldn’t be worth faking teeth this size. I must have 20 :)

btw are you in the U.K.?

Also, I'm jealous. There are so many nice fossils in the UK. As you probably know, many of Australia's fossils remain buried due to lots of erosion destroying the ones that had surfaced, as well as being so flat. Around where I live there is a site called Mulbring where I've found countless shells, bryozoans and even a few crinoids. Then east of there is the coast you can find many Glossopteris leaves in some hardened rocks.
