hndmarshall
ok found this but never took a really good look at it but upon looking at it a bit closer today I found it really resemble a Glyptodon scute. my question is is this what it looks like or is it another bust? If this is what it looks like that would be a cool find. it is 2 inches across and an inch and a quarter thick found in a gravel load west of Houston Texas from the Brazos River
Harry Pristis
No doubt in my mind - this is a glyptothere osteoderm. 5 http://pristis.wix.com/the-demijohn-page What seest thou else In the dark backward and abysm of time? ---Shakespeare, The Tempest

hndmarshall
have been finding lots of bone fragments and putting them together it was with my others as you can see from the pics now I think I may have to go through them and see if there are any others that can be identified. also makes me wonder if any of these could have came from the same animal? thank you all for the confirmation of the identification....I am rather excited!
caldigger
That load of gravel sure has offered some entertainment for you if nothing else. Great find and detective work on the Glyptotherium piece. I wonder what else that gravel pile has in store for you?
